PlayCommands (playcommands.com) is a free game that teaches Git commands in your browser. This page says what information it handles. In short: you can play without an account and nothing about your progress leaves your device; if you choose to sign in, we keep the basic details of your Google account.

Playing without an account

Your progress, settings and any custom commands are stored in your own browser, on your own device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data for playcommands.com removes them.

If you sign in with Google

Signing in is optional. When you do, Google tells our sign-in provider, Supabase, your name, your email address and your profile picture. We never see your Google password.

We keep those three details, together with an internal account number, in a database hosted by Supabase in Mumbai, India. We use them to recognise you when you come back, to show your name and picture in the app and, in future, to keep track of whether you have a paid plan. We use them for nothing else.

So that you stay signed in, your browser also keeps a sign-in session in its local storage. Signing out removes it. Your profile picture is loaded from Google’s servers.

What any website records

Like every website, ours records each request it receives: your IP address, the time, the page asked for and your browser type. These records are kept on the server, which runs on Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, only to keep the site working and to spot abuse. They are deleted after about two weeks.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your information, show advertisements, or use analytics or advertising trackers. This site loads no scripts from anyone else.

Who handles your information

Google (to sign you in), Supabase (our sign-in service and account database) and Amazon Web Services (our hosting). If we introduce paid plans, payments will be handled by a payment provider, and this page will be updated before then.

Your choices

You can sign out at any time. To see, correct or delete the details we hold about you, email shivreti@gmail.com and we will do it. Deleting your account removes your name, email address and picture from our database.
